How to Measure the Inseam of the Electric Bicycle?
Electric bicycles are becoming more popular as an environmentally friendly and convenient means of transportation.
By properly measuring the length of your bike's inseam, you can choose the right size bike, allowing you to ride more comfortably and safely.
In this article, we will introduce how to measure the inseam of a bike and the knowledge about bicycle size.
What is the inseam of a bicycle?
The inner seam of your bike refers to the distance from ankle to groin. It can provide better comfort when pedaling. An ill-fitting electric bike 48v 1000w frame can strain the leg muscles. Knowing the inside seam of the bike can help a rider get the best type of bike.
How do I measure the inseam?
Before you start measuring, prepare the following things:
- Tape measure
- Marker (can be masking tape, pencil or pen)
- Hardcover book (hard spine)
Step 1 - Find a good place
Find a closed door or a wall where you can stand with your back against it. Usually, you can take an inseam measurement anywhere. But a wall or closed door will help ensure you stand up straight.
Step 2 - Take off your shoes
We recommend that you measure the inseam of your fat tire electric bike 1000w without shoes. Measure your inseam barefoot or with a pair of socks. Since you will be wearing different shoes while riding the bike, you determine them without shoes as this shows more accurate results.
Step 3 - Stand up straight
Stand on a flat floor with your back straight against the wall, your legs 6 to 8 inches apart, shoulder-width apart.
Step 4 - Place the book at the crotch of pants
Take a hardcover book and place it between your legs, slide it down to your groin. It should be in close contact with your person, not just touching, as if you were sitting in a saddle. Make sure the entire book is in direct contact with the wall. You may seek the help of a friend in this process.
Step 5 - Measure your inside joints
Measure the distance between the floor and the hardcover book (crotch) with a tape measure. Mark the length with a marker, pencil, masking tape or pen.
Repeat the process three times, then add up the three values and average them to ensure you get more accurate results.
Knowing your bike size
Once you know the inseam, find your future bike according to the formula below!
- Mountain bike frame size for you = Your inseam x 0.66
- Road bike frame size for you = Your inseam x 0.7
- City bike frame size for you = Your inseam x 0.685
Measure the inseam of your 1000 watt electric bikes to find the right size for the e-bike. Measuring the inseam correctly will ensure the performance and safety of your e-bike.
Besides the inseam, it is also very important to know the size of your e-bike. Knowing the size of the e-bike will allow you to choose the right model and improve the comfort and safety of your ride.
